The Yonex VCORE 26 in Ruby Red targets juniors who practise regularly and are approaching the transition to an adult-length tennis racquet. Its 26-inch length and 235 g nominal weight bridge the gap between shorter children’s models and a full 27-inch frame. Yonex suggests it for players around ages 10-11 and heights of 135-145 cm, although the quality of the individual swing matters more than age alone.
A purposeful transition towards full-size tennis
The graphite construction, 100-square-inch head and 16/18 string pattern support a more developed swing and the first deliberate use of topspin. Young players get a frame suited to longer and more demanding rallies without immediately dealing with the mass and leverage of a full competition racquet.
ISOMETRIC geometry and VDM are included in the design, but VCORE 26 should not be treated as an adult VCORE 100 in miniature. Its dimensions serve a different player. If a junior still struggles to prepare on time, a correctly sized 25-inch racquet may be a better step before moving to this length.
