2G-Namd SPEED
2G-Namd SPEED is a graphite composite with uniformly dispersed carbon nanotubes. It allows the frame to flex and snap back quickly, supporting ball speed while maintaining a comfortable response at impact.
The Yonex EZONE 98 in Espresso Brown is for players who already generate their own racquet-head speed and want a more deliberate connection between swing and ball direction. Compared with the EZONE 100, its 98-square-inch head and slimmer beam deliver a more focused playing character. At a nominal 305 g, it belongs with confident, complete swings, assertive baseline patterns and players who look for opportunities to step inside the court.
A sharper playing focus, without abandoning EZONE comfort
Choosing the 98 is a meaningful decision rather than a cosmetic one. The smaller head asks for better timing and rewards a player who likes to shape the direction of a shot. Yonex ISOMETRIC geometry helps preserve a useful contact area, while the 16/19 string pattern offers the freedom to work with topspin when the rally calls for it.
The frame brings together 2G-Namd SPEED for responsive energy transfer, MINOLON in the shaft and VDM at the handle to manage unwanted vibration. Espresso Brown gives the racquet a distinctive appearance, but it remains a colour edition of the eighth-generation EZONE rather than a new generation. Its appeal is precision with accessible pace, not the simplicity of an oversized beginner frame.

AERO SHAPE
AERO SHAPE is a frame-profile design that combines carefully selected beam shapes and thicknesses to balance power, flexibility and ball feel. The geometry is intended to support a responsive impact sensation.
ISOMETRIC
Yonex ISOMETRIC uses a more squared-off head geometry that optimizes main and cross string intersections. Yonex reports an approximately 7% larger sweet spot than a comparable conventional round head, supporting a more forgiving response when contact is off centre.
LINER TECH
LINER TECH uses straighter string-entry holes so the main strings can move more freely on impact. The design supports ball pocketing and a more forgiving stringbed response, including on off-centre hits.
MINOLON
MINOLON uses ultra-fine natural fibres derived from minomushi bagworm silk. In eighth-generation EZONE frames, it is placed between graphite layers around the shaft to reduce unwanted impact vibration and provide a softer feel.
O.P.S. (Oval Pressed Shaft)
O.P.S. (Oval Pressed Shaft) uses rounder shaft corners to encourage controlled flex during impact. The design helps extend the ball-pocketing sensation and supports placement and control.
VDM
VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh) is a flexible mesh wrapped around the graphite inside the grip. It filters unwanted impact vibrations to provide a smoother, more comfortable feel in the hand.
