2G-Namd SPEED
2G-Namd SPEED is a graphite composite with uniformly dispersed carbon nanotubes. It allows the frame to flex and snap back quickly, supporting ball speed while maintaining a comfortable response at impact.
The Yonex EZONE 100SL in Blast Blue is the super-lightweight, full-length option within the eighth-generation EZONE 100 family. With a nominal frame weight of 270 g, a 100-square-inch head and a standard 27-inch length, it is designed for easier preparation and quicker racquet handling. This makes it a strong option for beginners and improving players who want an agile graphite frame without moving to a shorter junior racquet.
Easy handling without sacrificing a full-size frame
Yonex ISOMETRIC geometry creates a more generous effective hitting area, while the open 16/18 string pattern offers room to develop spin and adjust ball flight. A 330 mm balance helps maintain a composed response despite the racquet's low overall mass. Its 24.5-26.5-23 mm beam is geared towards accessible depth and a lively reaction to a moderate swing.
The frame combines high-modulus graphite with 2G-Namd SPEED, MINOLON and VDM, technologies selected to support responsive energy transfer and control unwanted vibration. Yonex specifies a recommended string tension of 40-55 lbs (approximately 18-25 kg) and suggests POLYTOUR AIR, REXIS SPEED and DYNAWIRE. This racquet is supplied unstrung, allowing players to choose a string setup suited to their game.
Technologies
AERO SHAPE
AERO SHAPE is a frame-profile design that combines carefully selected beam shapes and thicknesses to balance power, flexibility and ball feel. The geometry is intended to support a responsive impact sensation.
ISOMETRIC
Yonex ISOMETRIC uses a more squared-off head geometry that optimizes main and cross string intersections. Yonex reports an approximately 7% larger sweet spot than a comparable conventional round head, supporting a more forgiving response when contact is off centre.
LINER TECH
LINER TECH uses straighter string-entry holes so the main strings can move more freely on impact. The design supports ball pocketing and a more forgiving stringbed response, including on off-centre hits.
MINOLON
MINOLON uses ultra-fine natural fibres derived from minomushi bagworm silk. In eighth-generation EZONE frames, it is placed between graphite layers around the shaft to reduce unwanted impact vibration and provide a softer feel.
O.P.S. (Oval Pressed Shaft)
O.P.S. (Oval Pressed Shaft) uses rounder shaft corners to encourage controlled flex during impact. The design helps extend the ball-pocketing sensation and supports placement and control.
VDM
VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh) is a flexible mesh wrapped around the graphite inside the grip. It filters unwanted impact vibrations to provide a smoother, more comfortable feel in the hand.
